Kazakhstan-produced petrol confirmed to be of European standards

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jan. 13

By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

The petrol manufactured by Kazakhstan’s Atyrau refinery has received the REACH certificate which potentially allow to export it to all EU countries, Trend reports citing the refinery.

The REACH certificate is given if the chemical products is exported to a European county in the volume of over 1 ton a year. Thus, REACH certification is an important step in the development of export opportunities for a Kazakh enterprise, which is now a registered importer of gasoline for the Eurozone countries.

In April 2020, benzene and paraxylene of Atyrau Refinery manufacturing also received REACH certification. Accordingly, gasoline became the third product of the enterprise with confirmed compliance with European quality standards.

The acquisition of the REACH certificate was preceded by a lot of preparatory work on organizing the procedure for assessing the conformity of gasoline to European requirements, providing information on all issues related to REACH certification, registering the Atyrau Refinery with the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), preparing registration documents in accordance with ECHA procedures, etc.

The REACH certificate gives opportunities to Atyrau-produced gasoline for export to the market of all countries of the European Union, since the document is recognized throughout the Eurozone and implies the free circulation of certified products within the EU.
