Iran’s Karun Petrochemical Company boosts production

The production of the Iranian Karun Petrochemical Company has increased by 35 percent since the beginning of the current Iranian (March 20, 2020), compared to last Iranian year, the executive director of the company, Alireza Sedighizadeh said, Trend reports citing the company’s website.

The director noted that the company's main export products are MDI (Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate), TDI (Toluene diisocyanate), and aniline. The company plans to add nitro benzene products, which are used in the area of medicines to the list of export products in the next Iranian year (from March 21, 2021, through March 20, 2022).

Sedighizadeh added that the main goal of the company is to bring more currency to the country. Therefore, it is planned to increase exports in the next year. Of course, if the company's fuel is fully supplied next year, production will increase to the maximum.

"The company's products were exported to Iraq, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, as well as by sea to China and India in the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2020, through March 20, 2021)," he said.

The Karun Petrochemical Company is located in the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran). The company can produce 40,000 tons of MDI (Methylene diphenyl diisocyanate), 40,000 tons of TDI (Toluene diisocyanate), 30,000 tons of aniline, and 56,100 tons of nitric acid per year.
