Oil production (together with condensate) in Azerbaijan amounted to 8.8 million tons in the first quarter of 2021, which is 552,000 tons less compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing the report of the country’s Ministry of Energy.
At the same time, 5.9 million tons of oil were produced at the Azeri-Chirag-Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) field and 959,000 tons (condensate) at Shah Deniz.
According to the Energy Ministry, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 1.9 billion cubic meters of oil during the reporting period.
The ACG and Shah Deniz fields play an important role in the development of the oil and gas industry of Azerbaijan.
Since the commissioning of the ACG and Shah Deniz fields, 561 million tons of oil have been produced as of April 1, 2021, of which 530 million tons fell on ACG.
