Azerbaijan's 1Q2021 oil export slightly declines

Some 7.3 million tons of oil (together with condensate) were exported from Azerbaijan in the first quarter of 2020, Trend reports on Apr.21 referring to the report of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Energy.

According to the report, in the reporting period, 6.9 million tons were exported by the consortium, and 370,000 tons were sent for export by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR).

“The volume of oil export (together with condensate) decreased by 320,000 tons, that is, by 4 percent compared to 1Q2020,” said the report.

From January through March 2021, 1.4 million tons of oil have been processed in the country. The volume of refined oil for the reporting period compared to the same period last year shrank by 93,000 tons.

In 2020, the export of the declared oil from Azerbaijan amounted to 29.23 million tons, while the total value of oil exported during the reporting period amounted to over $9.3 billion. Meanwhile, oil exports in quantitative terms lowered by 5.9 percent, and in monetary terms - by 36.8 percent, compared to 2019.
