The work on Brody-Adamova Zastava oil pipeline, a key element of the Euro-Asian Oil Transport Corridor (EAOTC) is underway to connect the Polish and Ukrainian oil transportation systems, Ukrainian Energy Ministry told Trend.
The ministry said that preparations for the selection of the pipeline route are complete. The length of the route is 397.9 kilometers from the Brody Linear Production and Dispatch Station (LPDS) to Adamova Zastava, including 127.4 kilometers across the territory of Ukraine and 270.5 kilometers through the territory of Poland.
“Changes have been made to land use and development plans in Poland. Public discussions were held in Ukraine and Poland and the route of the oil pipeline was agreed with the local authorities. The process of environmental impact assessment of the project has been completed and environmental permits have been obtained for its implementation on the territory of Ukraine and Poland. The Brody - Adamova Zastava project is included in the list of EU projects of common interest.
The EAOTC is one of the key projects of cooperation between Ukraine and Azerbaijan in the oil transportation sector. The EAOTC is being implemented within the framework of the Sarmatia International Pipeline Enterprise to create a new route for the transportation of oil from the Caspian region to the EU markets via pipeline. The members of the Sarmatia Enterprise are: Ukrtransnafta JSC - 28.79 percent, PERN JSC (Poland) - 28.79 percent, State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) - 25.32 percent, Georgian oil and the gas corporation - 16.10 percent and Klaipedos Nafta (Lithuania) – 1 percent.
