Electricity generation of Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant in the Qazvin Province (northern Iran) increased by 4 percent during the first five months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through August 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, the Director of Shahid Rajaee TPP Ali Farhur said, Trend reports citing Thermal Power Plants Holding Company’s website.
Farhur stressed that the Shahid Rajaee TPP generated 5.5 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity over the reporting period and supplied to Iran's electricity network.
“Of the generated electricity, 2.66 billion kilowatt-hours were generated by the combined cycle units of the thermal power plant, while 2.83 billion kilowatt-hours by steam units,” he said.
The director added that the Shahid Rajaee TPP plays a key role in supplying electricity to Iran, by generating 12 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity per year.
As reported, the Shahid Rajaee Thermal Power Plant has 13 units. Four of them are steam units each generation capacity of 250 megawatt-hours, and the rest are combined cycle units. In total, the TPP can generate 2,040 megawatts of electricity.
