TEHRAN, Iran, April 25. Iran is facing a rising
gasoline consumption and requires to invest in building new
refineries and in increase of production, said a member of
parliament's energy commission Abdulali Rahimi Mozafari, Trend reports citing
ILNA.
"The current gasoline consumption is moving toward alarming state
due to rise of traveling after two years of COVID-19 restrictions,"
he said.
He pointed out the necessity to reduce consumption and establish
gasoline production units at refineries to increase production,
prepare to export fuel and cut reliance on imports.
The country's current refineries produce a limited amount of
gasoline, and establishing new refineries or improving old ones
would promote production that requires investment.
