BAKU, Azerbaijan, Jun.25. Deep Bahar gas completions were budgeted to come online in Q4 2021 and are now expected to be on production in Q2 and Q3 2022, Trend reports with reference to the Greenfields Petroleum Corporation.

Total production of 3906 BOE/d in May was up 5 percent from the prior month but remains 34 percent below the Budget forecast for the month. This shortfall is mainly due to the longer period of the Bahar workovers to reach the deeper target zones.

The work continues building geo and simulation models for main producing reservoirs in both Gum Deniz and Bahar fields.

Greenfields Petroleum Corporation, through its wholly owned subsidiary Bahar Energy Limited (BEL), owns an 80 percent interest in the Exploration, Rehabilitation, Development and Production Sharing Agreement (the ERDPSA) with SOCAR and its affiliate SOCAR Oil Affiliate (SOA) in respect of the offshore block known as Bahar Gum Deniz (the Bahar Project), which consist of a Contract Rehabilitation Area (CRA) including the Bahar Gas Field and the Gum Deniz Oil Field and an Exploration Area (CEA).

The Bahar Gas Field is located in shallow water 40 km southeast of Baku, offshore in the South Caspian Basin. The Bahar Gas Field is located in the South Apsheron Offshore Zone of the South Caspian Basin, and is found along the Fatmai-Gum Adasi anticlinal trend which includes the Gum Deniz and Shakh Deniz structures. The Bahar structure is a north-south trending faulted anticline that is approximately 9.5 kilometres in length and 3.5 kilometres in width. The field was discovered in 1968 and production began in 1969 with cumulative production year end 2017 of 4.54 Tcf and 84 MMbbls condensate.
