BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 6. Iran’s petrochemical production amounted to 56 million tons, over 10 months (July 23, 2021 through May 21, 2022), Trend reports citing Iran’s National Petrochemical Company’s website.

According to the report, Iran's petrochemical production increased by about 7 million tons compared to the previous period (July 22, 2020 through July 21, 2021).

The domestic sales of Iran’s petrochemical products for the mentioned 10 months amounted to 8.8 million tons worth about 1.78 quadrillion rials (about $42.3 billion).

Meanwhile, Iran’s exports of petrochemical products for 10 months amounted to 21.7 million tons worth about $14 billion.

At present, work is underway within the framework of 68 projects related to the development of the petrochemical industry. As a result, 51 million tons will be added to the country's petrochemical potential. For this purpose, $35 billion is needed.
