The projects, which will be inaugurated between February 1 and 11, 2024, cover various aspects of the water and electricity sectors in Iran, according to the Ministry of Energy of Iran.

The ministry stated that about 284 trillion rials (about $6.75 billion) were invested in 177 projects in the electricity sector, which include the construction and operation of power generation and transmission facilities.

Meanwhile, about 794 trillion rials (about $18.9 billion) were spent on 150 projects in the water and sewerage sector, which involve the development and maintenance of water supply and treatment facilities.

The capital city of Tehran has the largest share of the projects, with 111 projects in both sectors completed with a total cost of about 282 trillion rials (about $6.72 billion).

It should be noted that the current government of Iran, which came to power in August 2021, has a plan to invest 15.8 quadrillion rials (about $376 billion) in the water and electricity sectors by the end of its term in August 2025.
