BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. In January 2024, the STAR oil refinery, owned by the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye, produced 581,804 tons of diesel fuel, marking a decrease from the 639,532 tons produced in the same month in 2023, Trend reports.

This signifies a reduction in diesel production at the refinery of more than 9 percent year-on-year, according to Turkish Energy Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

The STAR refinery's capacity is projected to increase to 13 million tons in 2024. Crude oil sourced from the countries of the Black Sea region, Africa, and various other nations is utilized in the production of petrochemical products.

Operational since October 2018, the STAR refinery boasts an annual refining capacity of about 10 million tons and can process 214,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
