STAR Refinery in Türkiye increases naphtha production

BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 30. The STAR oil refinery of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye has experienced a rise in naphtha production, Trend reports.

According to data from the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), the refinery produced 152,223 tons of naphtha in March 2024, compared to 146,953 tons in the same period in 2023, marking a 3.6 percent increase.

The STAR refinery, with an investment cost of $6.3 billion, commenced operations in October 2018, with loans covering about $3.3 billion of the project's cost.

With an annual refining capacity of approximately 10 million tons and the capability to process 214,000 barrels of crude oil per day, the refinery plays a crucial role in the region's energy landscape.
