All districts of Nakhchevan Autonomous Republic (NAR) will receive gas, the first deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Yagub Eyubov told Trend. According to him, complete gas supply of NAR is planned in 2006-2007.
"Deliveries of Iranian gas to NAR commenced on 3 November. It is the first deliveries of fuel to NAR for 15 years. In this regard the high level ceremony is expected to hold. The exact date is not set yet”, he said. 260 billion AZM has been spent for implementation of the first stage of the NAR gas supply reinstatement project.
According to Azerigaz JSC, testing of gas pipelines and equipment is currently underway. 21,000 consumers will be provided with gas in NAR. Since 1 November the Azerbaijani gas goes to Iran for supply of the north-eastern regions.
