Azerbaijan is about to launch gas import from Iran in 2007, Yahub Eyyubov, the first Vice-Premier of the Azerbaijani Government told Trend.
Negotiations on this issue have already been started, but haven not been completed yet, he said.
According to him, Azerbaijan is about to continue holding negotiations with Iran concerning the gas import. However, it is too early to speak about the gas volumes Azerbaijan might buy, he said.
At present, Azerbaijan is importing gas from Russia at the price of $110 per a 1.000 cubic meters. This year, Azerbaijan is expected to buy some 4.5 b. cubic meters of gas from Russia's gas giant GazProm.
