Azerbaijan Eager to Increase Gas Deliveries to Georgia

Azerbaijan, Baku / corr Trend S.Aliyev / Azerbaijan is considering opportunities for increasing gas deliveries to Georgia. This volume can be increased to 2.5mln cu m of gas/day in the autumn-winter period, the Government said.

At present, Azerbaijan delivers approximately 1.3 - 1.5mln cu m of natural gas to Georgia. In general, approximately 2.5mln cu m of gas is supplied to Georgia a day. Azerbaijan delivers gas in the volume of 1.5mln cu m via oil pipelines and 1mln cu m of gas is transported from the Shah Deniz field via the South Caucasus pipeline. It is planned that 250mln cu m of natural gas will be delivered from this field at $63 per cu m in accordance with the relevant contract.

The Azerbaijan Gas Supply Company supplies gas from Shah Deniz to Georgia at $63/th cu m. SOCAR has an agreement with Georgia on gas supply at $120 per 1t.
