Iran discloses value of insurances provided to mining sector

Various insurances worth 3.9 trillion rials (about $92.8 million) were issued to the mining sector in Iran during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 20-September 21, 2020), said Abbas Naimi, Deputy Chairman of Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), Trend reports citing IMIDRO.

Naimi stressed that the insurances worth 2.92 trillion rials (about $69.5 million) were issued to the mines by the private sector during the reporting period.

The deputy chairman added that the value of insurances issued to Iran's mining sector amounted to 3.5 trillion rials (about $83.3 million) in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2019 to March 20, 2020).

“A total of 7.75 trillion rials (about $185 million) worth of insurances have been provided since the establishment of the Insurance Fund in Iran’s mining sector,” he noted.

Naimi said that fortunately, the work done in the area of insurance is positively assessed and there are no problems with payments.
