BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 27. The largest amount of loans issued in Azerbaijan in August 2022 fell on households (54 percent of total lending), Trend reports citing the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA).

In the reporting month, loans granted to households grew by 2.6 billion manat ($1.527 billion), or 34.28 percent year on year, from 7.69 billion manat ($4.5 billion) to 10.328 billion manat ($6.06 billion).

Meanwhile, loans of 3.13 billion manat ($1.83 billion) were rendered to trade and services against 2.548 billion manat ($1.49 billion) in August 2021. This figure was 583.8 million manat ($342.99 million), or 22.91 percent more than in the same period last year. Thus, trade and services accounted for 16.4 percent of total lending.

Lending to the real sector of the Azerbaijani economy rose by 22.61 percent, or 3.528 billion manat ($2.07 billion) in August 2022 compared to the same month of 2021, from 15.6 billion manat ($9.16 billion) to 19.1 billion manat ($11.2 billion).
