BAKU, Azerbaijan, November 23. In total, 6.4 million bank checks worth 3.19 quadrillion rials (about $75.8 billion) were exchanged in Iran for the 7th month of the current Iranian year (September 23 through October 22, 2022), Trend reports via the report of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, this is a decrease of 4.9 percent in value and 5 percent in number, compared to the 6th month (August 23 through September 22, 2022).

In overall, 5.9 million checks worth 2.83 quadrillion rials (about $67.4 billion) were received in Iran in the 7th month. This is a decrease of 5.5 percent in value and 4.4 percent in number compared to the 6th month.

At the same time, over 484,000 checks worth about 353 trillion rials (about $8.4 billion) bounced in the 7th month, which is a decrease of 12.3 percent in number compared to the 6th month.

The reason for the bounce of checks was the lack of available funds. Thus, more than 467,000 checks worth 340 trillion rials (about $8.09 billion) bounced for these reasons in the 7th month.

"The checks 96.3 percent in value and 96.5 in number were bounced due to lack of available funds or deficit," the statistics said.
