The Ericsson company is ready to promote further growth of the information and communication technologies sector in Azerbaijan, offering the latest solutions and services in telecommunications, the CFO and Executive Vice President of Ericsson, Hans Westberg said at a meeting, organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in Baku.
He said Azerbaijan's telecommunications market shows rapid growth, and the company is confident in the continuation of this positive trend. The rapid development of the Azerbaijani telecommunication market increases the number of mobile subscribers, favoring the dynamic expansion of the Ericsson company's business activity in Azerbaijan.
Westberg said the Ericsson company's readiness to provide its full support to develop Azerbaijan's telecommunication market in accordance with the best standards. After launching third generation technology (3G), the Ericsson company is ready to offer solutions for operators to deploy mobile broadband Internet access, mobile TV, interactive video and other services.
Today, a key customer of Ericsson in Azerbaijan is the cellular operators Azercell and Azerfon, together with which experienced area is created to test new technologies.
The sides discussed the project of a national broadband network, which is designed to provide high-speed data transfer between different locations, offering end-user services of the highest quality, while significantly reducing costs for operators.
Another important aspect was to discuss the introduction of the latest cost-effective technologies for strategic projects like the establishment of a government network - Government Home Network and monitoring and control system for oil pipelines.
Moreover, the meeting also discussed applying information technology to practice in health care - e-Health and the Mobile Health.
E-Health systems can tie together all the medical information that is needed by clinic to support modern technology.
The introduction of e-Health systems will strengthen and diversify service delivery in health and social welfare, and the Ericsson company is ready to offer a technology platform, on whose base this innovative service can be deployed.
Set of solutions of Ericsson Mobile Health enables to organize permanent monitoring of patients' health, regardless of their location via the mobile communication network. The data is transmitted via the mobile operator network in the tower, where they are analyzed by the qualified medical personnel, who can timely hold consultation or provide patient care.
