Azerbaijan ranked 99 in the rating the price affordability of a "ICT services basket" published in the new edition of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) report for the development of information and communication technologies.
According to ITU, the cost of "services basket" in the field of fixed communication in Azerbaijan amounted to 0.78 per cent of GDP recounting per inhabitant (3830 dollars), a basket of mobile services - 1.38 percent of GDP per inhabitant, a basket of fixed wireless access services - 15,27 percent.
In new version of rating Azerbaijan left Moldova, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Tajikistan behind. The top five leaders in the rating include Macau, Hong Kong, Singapore, Kuwait and Luxembourg
The rating followed up the development of ICT in 159 countries around the world in 2007-2008, and took into account such indicators as the number of mobile phone users per 100 inhabitants of country , the number of home users computerized and connected to the Internet, the number of broadband connections, the literacy rate and other parameters.
