The Azerbaijani Communications and Information Technologies Ministry has invested 110.5 million Manat in the communications sector in 2012, a ministry report on year end totals said.
A total of 325.3 million manat was invested in the information and communication technologies sector in 2012, which accounts for two percent of the total investment in the country's economy.
The capacity of the country's telephone network increased by more than 28.400 telephone numbers thanks to investment projects and now exceeds 1.75 million numbers.
Last year, the number of computers per every 100 people reached 20 units while the number of Internet users was 70 people, 50 of which were broadband users.
As of 2012, mobile penetration rate in the republic remained at 110 percent.
