According to the NetIndex rating of Ookla company, the average speed of incoming traffic in Azerbaijan amounts to 5.48 Mbit / s, the company's statement said on Dec. 21.
This figure reached 9.21 Mbit / s in Baku and 3.33 Mbit / s in Sumgait.
The results were obtained on the basis of experimental studies conducted by the company between November 19 - December 18, 2013. Some 366,767 unique IP-addresses were selected for the studies.
Azerbaijan holds 112th place in the rating of incoming traffic. The results of statistical indicators of 20 internet service providers and operators in Azerbaijan were listed in the rating. The maximum speed of traffic in the network amounted to 15.26 Mbit / s (Uninet network), while the minimum speed was 2.54 Mbit / s (Azerin).
Azerbaijan holds 92nd place in the rating of outgoing traffic with access to the network at a speed of 3.01 Mbit / s. In Baku, the figure was 6.39 Mbit / s, while in Sumgait it was 0.64 Mbit / s.
The rating of the outgoing traffic also listed 20 Internet service providers and operators in Azerbaijan. The maximum speed of outgoing traffic was registered at 10.91 Mbit / s (Uninet network), while the minimum speed was 0.43 Mbit / s (Azerbaijan Data Network).
