Since early 2018, more than 60,000 users in Azerbaijan, protected by Kaspersky Lab's solutions, have been attacked by various malicious software, official representative of Kaspersky Lab in Azerbaijan Mushvig Mammadov told Trend on May 30.

In April, 25 percent of internet users were attacked by malware, according to him.

"The most acute problem in the AzNET segment is phishing and social engineering. If earlier, one of the main tips for a user was checking the connection to the web page, then today the certificate does not guarantee security and anyone can be website owner. Attackers skillfully forge well-known websites, substitute separate symbols, distribute messages on behalf of well-known companies and use information about significant events. For protection, we always recommend to carefully check the addresses of websites," he said.

Recently, Kaspersky Lab published “Development of Information Threats” public review for the first quarter of 2018. According to the review, 35.13 percent of computers in Azerbaijan faced the risk of infection through the internet during the reported period.

Azerbaijan ranked the 8th among 20 countries that were most at risk of infection through the internet, according to the review.

In addition, 0.75 percent of users in Azerbaijan faced attacks of encryption Trojans.

In the third quarter of 2017, Kaspersky Lab's solutions prevented more than 796.8 million attacks coming from internet resources located in 194 countries.

There were more than 282.8 million unique URLs that triggered web antiviruses.

Kaspersky Lab's products for protection of mobile devices detected more than 1.32 million malicious installation packages, more than 18,900 install packages of mobile banking Trojans and over 8,700 installation packages of mobile malicious Trojans.
