Nokia updates on development of 5G in Kazakhstan

Nokia has not yet agreed to any details regarding development of 5G in Kazakhstan, Nokia’s Head of Central East & Central Asia Mikko Lavanti told Trend.

Recently, the Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Ruslan Dalenov stated that the project of 5G internet is being developed in Kazakhstan and the project will be implemented with the help of the Nordic Investment Bank. According to him, it is supposed that the project’s investor will be Nokia company from Finland, which will make investments of almost $500 million.

Lavanti added Kazakhstan is an important market, where his company wants to continue working closely with the government, all operators and the ecosystem.

"As of now, we have not agreed to any details for 5G. We have already demonstrated our leading 5G technology in Kazakhstan in several trials and we will continue to offer our technology and expertise for deploying 5G in the country,” he said.

Nokia Corporation is a Finnish multinational telecommunications, information technology, and consumer electronics company, founded in 1865. It is the world's 415th-largest company measured by 2016 revenues according to the Fortune Global 500, having peaked at 85th place in 2009.
