Despite termination of official support for Windows 7 from Jan. 14, 2020, more than 40 percent of users in Azerbaijan continue to use this operating system which was issued a decade ago, General Manager of Microsoft Azerbaijan Gachay Mirzayev told Trend.

Mirzayev was commenting on updating the company’s products and provided statistics on vulnerabilities identified this year by Microsoft in Azerbaijan. He said the summary on the matter is available on Microsoft's official website.

Here company publicly shares information on identified vulnerabilities and releases security updates against these vulnerabilities, said Mirzayev.

“Many vulnerabilities are observed namely in Windows 7 for objective reasons. We strongly recommend switching to Windows 10, because it is the most secure version of Windows with a comprehensive security system including antivirus, firewall, online protection and much more. It also has more security features, monitoring dashboards and updates, and this enables protection from existing and possible threats in the future, and it is free.”

“There is a step-by-step instruction on our website how a user of operating systems below the tenth version can switch to Windows 10,” Mirzayev added.
