One of the main problems of using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in everyday practice is compliance with safety and confidentiality rules, Trend reports on April 7 referring to a statement posted on the website of the Institute of Information Technology of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS).

“The unauthorized UAV flights over some territories can lead to serious security and privacy problems, as well as accidents,” the message said. "Such territories include airports, military facilities, hospitals, correctional institutions, border areas, nuclear power plants, oil refineries."

“Moreover, UAVs are most often used for remote video filming in the areas with civilian infrastructure, where privacy protection is required,” the message said.

"It is important to timely detect unauthorized flights of these UAVs over such areas,” the message says. “For this purpose, various solutions have been developed: reception and analysis of radio signals emitted by UAVs, analysis of acoustic patterns, video processing, creation of infrared images, radar and lidar systems.”

"Each of these technologies has its advantages and disadvantages,” the messages said. “Scientific articles devoted to the detection of UAVs describe methods of artificial intelligence. Our work in this sphere is based on acoustic features (integration of spectrograms of sound signals). A model of UAV detection based on simple neural and ultra-precise networks has been also offered."
