Mobile internet download speed continues to grow in Azerbaijan - Ookla

The average download speed for mobile internet in Azerbaijan grew in July 2021, Trend reports citing Ookla.

According to Ookla, this showing reached 37.24 Mbit/s, which is 0.81 Mbit/s above the previous month’s level.

At the same time, in the reporting month the average download speed for broadband internet made up 24.08 Mbit/s (a decrease of 1.51), Ookla said.

Besides, data download rates over the mobile communication network rose by 0.35 percent compared to June 2021.

Meanwhile, the outgoing internet speed over the mobile communication network was 14.59 Mbps, down 2.5 percent in monthly terms.

According to Ookla, data download speed on fixed broadband lowered by almost six percent over the month.

The speed of incoming and outgoing download via the mobile communication network stood at 55.07 Mbit/s and 12.35 Mbit/s, respectively, on average worldwide for the reporting month.

According to the rating, in July of this year, Azerbaijan improved its position among 137 countries in terms of data download speed through mobile Internet and took 66th place (an increase by two positions), and among 181 countries - in terms of data transmission speed through broadband Internet access, it took 123rd place.
