ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, December 19. International Telecommunication Union (ITU) considers several areas of cooperation with Turkmenistan as priorities for the development of the country's national telecommunications infrastructure, a source in the ITU told Trend.
Speaking about specific priority areas of cooperation with Turkmenistan, the organization noted that these areas include the advancement of new technologies and effective spectrum management, ensuring the protection of critical information infrastructure and enhancing the national capacity to respond to cyber threats, and ensuring digital skills for everyone.
The ITU added that the organization makes a significant contribution to development and implementation of information and communication technology policy in Turkmenistan, including issues of digitalization and cybersecurity.
"ITU contributes to the development and implementation of information and communication technology policy in Turkmenistan, including digitalization and cybersecurity, through training programs, online workshops, engagement in regional and national events and direct assistance, and in collaboration with the UN Country Team of Turkmenistan," said the source.
Meanwhile, at the end of November this year, Nurmyrat Rejepov, deputy chairman of the Turkmenaragatnashyk Agency (Turkmen Communication), said that the agency was ready to establish cooperation in attracting investments and implementing a number of projects, including the creation of a data center and factories for the production of fiber-optic cables and server equipment.
