Traveling via Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province increases

TEHRAN, Iran, October 5. Movement via border crossings in Iran’s West Azerbaijan Province has increased in the first half of the current Iranian year (started March 21,2022), said director general of road and transportation in West Azerbaijan Province Peyman Aramon, Trend reports citing IRNA.

Statistics show that a total of 1.6 million passengers traveled through main border crossings, including Razi, Tamarchin, Bazargan and Piranshahr, in West Azerbaijan Province.

Some 680,000 people used the Razi border checkpoint, heading into the direction of Van city in Turkiye, 527,000 people used the Bazargan border checkpoint and 386,000 people used the Tamarchin border checkpoint.

According to the Aramon, traveling via borders in West Azerbaijan Province has increased by 417 percent following the decline of the COVID-19 spread across Iran.
