Luxembourg's Luxaviation plans to create a helicopter airline in Uzbekistan, said Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Aziz Abdukhakimov at a press conference on February 13, 2020, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

He added several other foreign companies are also showing interest in cooperation with Uzbekistan in this area.

The most important thing is that the created air carrier should be a resident of Uzbekistan, Abdukhakimov said.

"If the company is a resident of Uzbekistan, it will pay taxes and create jobs here, and we are interested in attracting foreign companies," he said.

Luxaviation is one of the world's largest private jet operators, with a fleet of 260 aircraft and over 1,400 employees worldwide.

Earlier, Uzbek Transport Minister Elyar Ganiyev said that five or six new airlines will be established in the country in next two years.

As reported, the total number of flights carried out by Uzbek airlines will increase by 2,800, and each international airport of country has been instructed to open 10 new international flights in the "open sky" mode.

Implementation of these plans is expected to be completed by early summer 2021.
