Airport facilities to be put into operation in Iran

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Nov. 18

A total of 12 airport facilities worth 8.42 trillion rials (about $200 million) will be put into operation in Iran tomorrow on November 19, the Head of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC) Siavash Amir Mokri said, Trend reports citing the company’s official website.

The head stressed that these facilities will be put into operation at Gorgan, Isfahan, Shahrud, Tabriz, and Mashhad international airports.

Amir Mokri added that an 8,700-square-meters international terminal, a 2,100-square-meters multi-purpose hall, an 800-square-meters control building, and a 58,000-square-meters apron will be put into operation at the Gorgan International Airport.

“In addition, a developed international terminal, a 9,000-square-meters boiler room, and a 93,200-square-meters apron will be put into operation at the Isfahan International Airport,” he said.

The official also noted that a 3,000-square-meters terminal and a 178,000-square-meters runway will be put into operation at the Shahrud International Airport. At the same time, a 55,000- square-meters apron and a taxiway will be put into operation at the Tabriz International Airport.

According to Amir Mokri, a 170,000-square-meters facility will be put into operation at the Mashhad International Airport.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Mohammad Eslami will attend the commissioning ceremony of the facilities via videoconference.
