The volume of cargo transportation by Azerbaijan Railways CJSC exceeded 7.22 million tons in the first half of 2021, which is 0.4 percent more compared to the same period of 2020, Trend reports citing Azerbaijan Railways.
“Out of the total volume, more than 3.46 million tons fell on the share of international cargo transportation by Azerbaijan Railways, transit – nearly 2.5 million tons, domestic cargo transportation – over 1.26 million tons.
“During the specifying period, more than 24,000 containers were transported, the operator's cargo transportation exceeded 690,000 ton-kilometers,” the company said.
From January through June 2021, the volume of cargo transportation by all types of transport in Azerbaijan made up 92.2 million tons, which is 4.2 percent less compared to the same period of 2020.
