Passenger transportation via Iran’s Persian Gulf Airport up

The number of passengers transported through the Persian Gulf International Airport in the Bushehr Province (southern Iran) increased by 15 percent, during the first 9 months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through December 21, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.

According to the statistics, 477,513 passengers were transported through the Persian Gulf International Airport in 9 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, the figure stood at 414,294.

At the same time, 3,312 tons of cargo were transported through the airport within nine months, which is an increase of 19 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. Thus, cargo transportation via the airport amounted to 2,775 tons in the same period last Iranian year.

“Over 9 months, a total of 5,143 passenger planes took off and landed at the Persian Gulf Airport. This is an increase of 14 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, 4,513 flights had been carried out from the airport in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.

The Persian Gulf International Airport covers an area of about 700 hectares and can receive more than 1 million passengers a year.
