The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port of the Hormozgan Province (southern Iran) decreased by 33 percent in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2022), compared to the 10th month (December 22, 2021 through January 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, more than 126,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in this port in the 11th month. Of this, about 109,000 tons were loaded and 17,100 tons were unloaded.
Furthermore, 71,400 tons of cargo were exported and 8,000 tons were imported through the Shahid Bahonar port over the reporting month.
Within the 11th month, 1,180 tons of cargo were loaded and 1,650 tons were unloaded in the port for transit.
According to the statistics, 36,600 tons of cargo were loaded and 67 tons were unloaded in the port for cabotage, as well as, 24 tons of cargo were loaded, while 7,410 tons were unloaded for other purposes during the 11th month.
“So, 50,400 tons of essential products, 395 tons of metal products, 17,000 tons of construction and mining materials, 3,760 tons of equipment, vehicles and spare parts were loaded and unloaded in the Shahid Bahonar port in the 11th month of the current Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Moreover, 256 tons of chemicals, 69 tons of leather goods, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 7,400 tons of container products, 47,000 tons of crude oil and oil products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned period.
About 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 11th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.11 million tons were loaded and 6.49 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 14.3 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
