The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Astara port of the Gilan Province (northern Iran) decreased by 1.6 percent in the 11th month of the current Iranian year (January 21 through February 19, 2022), compared to the 10th month (December 22, 2021 through January 20, 2022), Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).
According to the statistics, over 17,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 11th month. Of this, 12,000 tons were loaded and 5,020 tons were unloaded.
About 11,200 tons of cargo were exported and 5,000 tons were imported through the Astara port over the reporting month.
Also, 777 tons of cargo were loaded and 22 tons were unloaded in the port for transit during the 11th month.
According to the statistics, 6 tons of essential products, 102 tons of metal products, 5,010 tons of construction and mining materials were loaded and unloaded in the Astara port in the 11th month of the current Iranian year.
Moreover, 20 tons of equipment, vehicles, spare parts, 4,220 tons of chemicals, 4,810 tons of leather goods, clothing, wood materials, paper, and so on, 392 tons of small and assorted goods, 1,900 tons of container products and 575 tons of crude oil and related products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.
About 12.6 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 11th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.11 million tons were loaded and 6.49 million tons were unloaded. This is an increase of 14.3 percent, compared to the same month last Iranian year.
