TEHRAN, Iran, August 16. Iran Railway Company (RAI) is looking to receive the delayed payments from transportation companies, said the Managing Director of RAI Miad Salehi, Trend reports citing IRNA.
Railway transportation companies have delayed their payment to the Iranian Railway Company for several months which has been a source of income for technical costs and salaries, he said.
The official stressed boosting key sectors in railway and marketing and the necessity to identify all positions that could connect railways to cargo sources and introduce these cases to cargo owners and contractors.
Iran is seeking to connect to improve cargo transportation to neighboring countries via its railway route.
The first cargo train arrived at the Sarkhas railway station in Iran on July 13 from Russia by the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC) to transit cargo to India via Bandar Abbas port.
