BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 16. The volume of cargo loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port of the Khuzestan Province (southwestern Iran) decreased by 33.5 percent in the 9th month of the current Iranian year (November 22 through December 21, 2022), compared to the same month last Iranian year, Trend reports via the statistics of Iranian Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO).

According to the statistics, about 192,000 tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in the port during the 9th month. Of this, about 173,000 tons were loaded and 18,600 tons were unloaded.

Meanwhile, over 170,000 tons of cargo were exported and 18,100 tons were imported through the Khorramshahr port over the reporting month.

Also, 78 tons of cargo were loaded and 382 tons were unloaded in this port for transit, while 2,610 tons of cargo were loaded and 142 tons were unloaded for other purposes within the 9th month.

Some 6,080 tons of essential products, 4,520 tons of metal products, about 159,000 tons of construction and mining materials and 2,590 tons of equipment were loaded and unloaded in the Khorramshahr port in the 9th month of the current Iranian year.

Moreover, 1,030 tons of chemicals, 1,089 leather products, clothing, fibers, paper, and wood materials, 72 tons of small and assorted goods, and 16,800 tons of container products were loaded and unloaded in this port within the mentioned month.

In general, approximately 12 million tons of cargo were loaded and unloaded in Iranian ports in the 9th month of the current Iranian year. Of this, 6.6 million tons were loaded and 5.4 million tons were unloaded. This is a decrease of 8.1 percent compared to the same month last Iranian year.
