BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 26. Baku will host the Black and Caspian Freight Forum in September, where opportunities for developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TITR, or Middle Corridor) will be discussed, Trend reports via the RDL group, the organizer of the event.
The forum will be held on September 17–19, bringing together over 200 experts from the Black and Caspian Sea logistics markets.
"The realities of today have led logistics companies and cargo owners to actively use transportation corridors running through the territories of the Black and Caspian Sea countries. Such dynamics promote the development of new services, routes, and infrastructure," said the RDL group.
The planned program for the Baku forum includes discussions on the following issues:
• Opportunities for the development of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor);
• Development of transport logistics infrastructure in Azerbaijan;
• Cargo transit through Kazakhstan as a vital link in the TITR;
• Potential of Azerbaijan and Georgia as transit platforms for international transport corridors;
• Seaports and terminals: new development projects and adaptation of facilities to increase cargo transportation volume;
• Prospects for shipping in the Black Sea;
• Containerization as a factor in cargo traffic growth.
"The Baku event may arouse interest among traders, producers of fertilizers, grain, crude oil, steel, and construction materials, as opportunities for cargo transportation via the Caspian and Black Sea will be discussed," said the company.
Participants at the forum will include heads of shipping companies, railroad operators, integrated logistics providers, representatives of ports and terminals on the Caspian and Black Sea, and experts from international financial institutions and banks.
