Prices for food products in Kazakhstan in July 2021 increased by 0.7 percent (in June - 1.7 percent), for non-food products - by 0.5 percent (in June - by 0.8 percent), for paid services - by 0.8 percent (in June - 0.7 percent), Trend reports with reference to the press service of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
According to the bank, in annual terms inflation rate amounted to 8.4 percent (in June - 7.9 percent).
In the context of regions, the growth of monthly inflation slowed down in 14 regions, in one region it accelerated, in two regions the rate of price growth remained unchanged. Acceleration was noted in the Karaganda region, where the rise in prices in July amounted to 1.1 percent, which is the highest monthly inflation rate among the regions.
In Almaty and Zhambyl regions, the growth rates of prices remained unchanged (one percent and 0.8 percent, respectively). The lowest value of monthly inflation was recorded in Almaty (0.3 percent). Annual inflation turned out to be higher than the national level in eight regions, among which the highest value was recorded in Pavlodar and Mangistau regions (9.2 percent and 9.1 percent, respectively).
It is reported that the largest contribution to the annual growth in prices continues to be made by Almaty and Almaty region (1.3 percent and one percent, respectively), which have the largest weight in the consumer price index for Kazakhstan. The rise in prices in these regions amounted to 7.7 percent and 8.3 percent, respectively.
In addition, paid services in the country became more expensive by 6.1 percent (in June - by 5.6 percent), while in Pavlodar region, prices increased by 8.3 percent. Significantly lower prices for paid services increased in Almaty (by 5.1 percent).
In July, in all regions, except for Mangistau, Turkestan regions and Almaty, Shymkent, electricity tariffs increased. The smallest increase in tariffs was noted in the Kyzylorda region (4.2 percent).
In the remaining eight regions, electricity prices rose within 9.2 percent - 11.7 percent. As a result, the growth in Kazakhstan amounted to five percent. It was noted that in the North Kazakhstan, Atyrau, West Kazakhstan regions and the city of Nur-Sultan, electricity prices increased from May through June of this year.
