Kazakhstan talks investments of non-residents in state securities

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Feb. 8

The volume of investments by non-residents in the state securities and notes of the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) in 2021 amounted to 596 billion tenge ($1.4 billion), the NBK's Chairman Galymzhan Pirmatov said at the governmental meeting, Trend reports via the bank.

As a result of the joint work of the National Bank and the Ministry of Finance, the share of market investors in the state securities auctions in 2021 grew to 69.2 percent against 32.7 percent in 2020.

The share of state securities placements with the most demanded maturity from one to five years amounted to 53 percent.

In 2022, demand from foreign investors against the backdrop of attractive yield levels and the inclusion of state securities of Kazakhstan in the international indices will further increase liquidity in the state securities market.
