BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 11. Kazakhstan’s Interdepartmental Commission on Foreign Trade Policy and Participation in International Economic Organizations has decided to introduce quotas for the export of wheat and flour, First Deputy Minister of Agriculture Aidarbek Saparov said, Trend reports.
Saparov made the remark at a press conference in the Central Communications Service.
"In order to avoid a shortage in the domestic market and load the flour mills, on April 1, 2022, the commission decided to introduce the export quotas from April 15 through June 15. The volume of the quota for wheat will be one million tons, and for flour – 300,000 tons," he noted.
Besides, according to him, in order to assess the real situation in the domestic market, the Ministry of Agriculture, together with the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms of Kazakhstan and local executive bodies, is working on an inventory of wheat availability in the regions.
"Thus, measures to provide the domestic market with socially significant food products, including flour, are already being taken by the government," emphasized the first deputy minister.
