BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 26. Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan Abulkhair Tamabek at a press conference in the Central Communications Service announced an increase in the volume of acreage in the country this year, Trend reports citing Kazinform.

According to him, today the total sown area in Kazakhstan is 23.1 million hectares. This is 105,000 hectares more than in 2021.

At the same time, the area for fodder crops reached 3.6 million hectares. The areas for sunflowers and vegetables have also been increased.

In order to coordinate all issues related to sowing operations, providing peasant farms with seeds, agrochemicals, agricultural machinery and financing, an operational headquarters has been established, Tamabek noted.

The main types of agricultural crops grown on the territory of Kazakhstan are wheat, rice, buckwheat, sugar beet, fodder, vegetable, melon, fruit and berry crops.
