BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 28. The Chinese State Power Investment Corporation (SPIC) has successfully completed the construction and launch of the Zhanatas wind power plant with an electricity production of 350 million kWh per year, Trend reports via the Akimat (administration) of the Zhambyl region.

This was discussed at the meeting of the Head of the Zhambyl region Nurzhan Nurzhigitov with representatives of the SPIC.

It was noted that next year, the Shokpa Wind Power Plant with a capacity of 100 MW in Sarysu district is expected to be put into operation.

The company is going to apply this successful experience to work on other projects in the electric power industry and build large power plants in the region.

As investors noted, the region has every opportunity for the construction of a wind farm with a capacity of up to 600 MW.

In addition, the corporation's partner, SANY Renewable Energy, offers to build a plant for the production of wind turbine towers. The design capacity is 200 sets of towers per year. The total investment volume is $53 million. It is planned to create 160 new jobs.

Meanwhile, Zhambyl Economic and Investment Forum – 2023 was held in the Kazakh city of Taraz on April 26-27. The Forum's purpose is to present the investment and economic potential of the region, exchange mutual experience, effectively use the opportunities of potential investors, and establish relationships.

State Power Investment Corporation, newly established through the merger of China Power Investment Corporation and State Nuclear Power Technology Corporation in June 2015, is a large state-owned enterprise with a registered capital of RMB 45 billion (USD 7 billion) and total assets of RMB 722.3 billion (USD 112 billion).
