ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 8. Kazakhstan Railways (KTZ, national company) has delivered 140,000 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to all regions of the country in October, Trend reports.

In November, a plan of 160,000 tons was announced, 35,000 tons were loaded in 7 days, the plan was fulfilled at 107 percent.

As the national company noted, delivery times are affected by uneven, single and counter loading of gas by shippers across regions.

In this regard, KTZ has repeatedly spoken about the need for the authorized body, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, to take comprehensive measures to normalize logistics, but proper measures have not been taken to date. In addition, the Ministry of Energy needed to work out the allocation of sufficient quotas for gas shipments.

Thus, in October, due to the repair of the Atyrau Oil Refinery and untimely adjustment of quotas, there were interruptions in the provision of applications for LNG shipments to such regions as Shymkent, Astana, Kyzylorda and Atyrau.

Loading on the Kazakhstan Railways network amounted to 213.8 million tons from January through October 2023, which is 2.1 tons higher than in the same period last year. Over 138 million tons were transported by rail throughout the republic. Exports increased by 7.1 percent to 75.7 million tons.

In addition, in October this figure was 23 million tons, which is 6 percent higher than the same period last year.
