ASTANA, Kazakhstan, March 19. Annual inflation in Kazakhstan decreased to 9.3 percent in February 2024 (from 9.5 percent in January), while it slowed in 13 regions, climbed in 4, and was steady in 3 regions, Trend reports.
Meanwhile, the National Bank of Kazakhstan reports that monthly inflation in Kazakhstan for the reporting period was 1.1 percent.
The regions of East Kazakhstan and Karaganda have the highest annual rates of inflation.
Food prices fell 7.2 percent year-on-year in February (from 8.2 percent in January). The Ulytau region saw the greatest increase in goods prices (10.3 percent), while Shymkent saw the smallest (5.2 percent).
The increase in prices for non-food products has decreased to 8.5 percent year-on-year (from 8.6 percent in January). The highest number was reported in Mangystau (13.3 percent), and the lowest in the Aktobe region (7.1 percent).
Prices for paid services increased by 12.8 percent year-on-year in February (compared to 12.3 percent in January), with prices rising much higher in Karaganda (18 percent) and significantly lower in Almaty (8 percent).
