(Kazinform) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan Kassymzhomart Tokayev said at the briefing after the meeting with Iranian Minister Manuchehr Mottaki that President of Iran Mahmud Ahmadinejad was expected at the jubilee SCO Summit in Shanghai. He said, "June 15 our Presidents are supposed to meet and the corresponding documents are under preparartion. It will be a first and very important meeting of two leaders".
Speaking to Iranian President Kazakhstan's Minister handed over the special Message of Nursultan Nazarbayev. Discussed were the state of bilateral relations, and other issues as well as the ones concerning regional and international security, reports Trend.
Tokayev noted commenting on the results of the talks that the achieved level of bilateral relations will be deepened in future. Tehran meetings will be another stimulus for their development.
Mr. Tokayev informed that Mr. Mottaki had been elected co-chairman of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade-economic cooperation. Heads of Foreign Minister are rarely taking such a post. This fact then shows recognition of Kazakhstan's place in foreign trade of Iran. The following session of the Commission is scheduled to be held in Astana.
