Almazbek Atambaev, one of the former presidential candidates was elected for the post of the united opposition's leader, member of the Joint People's Movement, Mukar Cholponbaev, told the news agency 24.kg Thursday.
The final decision was reportedly reached yesterday by means of voting and debates.
Cholponbaev insists that talks about alleged discord between members of the Ata-Meken party and the Social-Democrats are nothing but rumors. There is a normal dialog and as it is in any other organization, some members agree and some disagree.
"Merger of the two parties is still under discussion," Cholponbaev noted.
