BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 10. The Fishery Department under the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan has released 6.4 million fish hatchlings into the fishery ponds of Kyrgyzstan this year as of April 5, 2023, Trend reports with reference to the Ministry of Agriculture of Kyrgyzstan.

The Ministry added the Department of Fisheries released 1.5 million hatchlings of ludoga whitefish into Lake Issyk-Kul in Eastern Kyrgyzstan on April 5.

The releasing of hatchlings was carried with the participation of employees of the Department of Agriculture, representatives of the Issyk-Kul Plus Fish Breeding Agricultural Cooperative, the Institute of Biosecurity of the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyzstan, the veterinary service of the Tyup district, the environmental police of the Issyk-Kul Oblast Internal Affairs Directorate of the Issyk-Kul Biosphere Territory, public organizations, and local authorities.

Aquaculture and culture-based fisheries dominate the national fish production in Kyrgyzstan. The territory of Kyrgyzstan forms about 40 percent of all water resources of Central Asia.

According to the of the Association of Fisheries of Kyrgyzstan, Renad Dosaev, the fishing industry in the country is developing at rapid pace.
