Kyrgyzstan discloses volume of weekly agricultural imports

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 19. Kyrgyzstan imported 14,970 tons of agricultural products from August 4 through 10, 2023, Trend reports.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the country, in the Chui region, 11,346 tons of agricultural products were imported. Of them, a total of 2,173 tons of grains (wheat, barley, and rice) were imported to the region from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Pakistan.

In the Jalal-Abad region, 1,646 tons of agricultural products were imported. The imports included 488 tons of watermelons and 111 tons of carrots from Uzbekistan, along with 282 tons of wheat from Russia.

In the Batken region, 850 tons of agricultural products were imported, including 532 tons of fruits from Uzbekistan.

Furthermore, 862 tons of agricultural products were imported in the Naryn region, with 326 tons of nuts imported from China.

And 265 tons of agricultural products were imported into the Talas region. Specifically, 227 tons of flour, 36.3 tons of watermelons, and 2 tons of watermelons were imported into the region from Kazakhstan.

Meanwhile, a total of 5,120 tons of agricultural products were exported from Kyrgyzstan’s regions during the period under review, which is a decrease of 48 percent compared to the preceding week (from July 28 through August 4), when 9,872 tons were exported.
