Kyrgyzstan to launch new transformers within regional infrastructure project

BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, September 15. The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan plans to put into operation 103 power transformers in the country as part of the CASA-1000 project, Minister of Energy Taalaibek Ibraev said. Trend reports.

He specified that 33 transformers will be located in the Osh region, 35 in the Jalal-Abad region, and 35 in the Batken region.

Furthermore, under the program, 44 transformers have already been put into operation, with 8 in the Jalal-Abad region, 16 in the Batken region, and 20 in the Osh region. In total, 171 transformers will be put into operation in Kyrgyzstan within the CASA-1000 project, including those already operating.

CASA-1000 is an infrastructure project aimed at transmitting 1,300 megawatts of surplus electricity from Central Asian countries (Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan) to high-demand electricity markets in South Asian countries (Afghanistan and Pakistan) through the construction of new energy infrastructure. The project includes the modernization of each country's electrical grids through the construction of new substations and high-voltage power transmission lines.
